Doyle Wayne Holden

ARCHDALE – Doyle Wayne Holden, 76, died Saturday, September 4, 2021 at High Point Medical Center.

He was born July 18, 1945 in Guilford County and was the son of the late Alfred and Dollie Mae Hudspeth Holden. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Korea. He worked for many years as a machinist in the machine shop with Cascade Die Casting and later worked with Bartimaeus By Design in Denton. Doyle was a classic gentleman; he was kind, witty, well respected and a gentle man. He was an avid golf player and also enjoyed fishing, tennis and baseball.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on August 17, 2021 by his wife of forty years, Elizabeth Flynn Holden. He was also preceded in death by fifteen brothers and sisters, Homer, Edward, Lloyd, Flossie, Florence, Herbert, Troy, Ernest, Richard, Curtis, Darrell, Carroll, Loyle, Michael and David.

Doyle is survived by his daughters, Christina Loman of Archdale and Janice Price (Daniel) of Lexington; step-daughters, Cynthia Heaton (Keith) of Sophia, Denise Johnson (Erin) of Vero Beach, Florida and Alicia Coleman of Thomasville; brother, Larry Holden (Dixie) of Archdale; five grandchildren, Kayla Hughes, Autumn Hughes, Trey Loman III, Brandon Bolen and Emily Boyd; five stepgrandchildren, Aaron Larger, Sr., Jacob Key, Madison Bennett, Christopher Johnson and Curtis Johnson; and one step-great-grandson.

Funeral service celebrating Doyle’s life will be held 2:00 PM Friday, September 10, 2021 in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Pastor Jeff Harmon officiating. Entombment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park Mausoleum in Asheboro.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the funeral home.
