Dr. Priscilla Sage Davis, age 97, died peacefully in High Point, North Carolina, on August 5, 2017.  Priscilla was born on August 4, 1920 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Dr. Harrison Morton Sage and Lillian Taft Sage.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Harriet Sage Williams and brother, Dr. Harry Morton Sage, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Dean Robert Davis (Carol) of Wilmington, NC, her daughter, Barbara Davis Garry (Ivan) of High Point, NC, and her son, Mark Sage Davis (Carol) of Franklin, Indiana.  She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Carrie Conway (Joe) of Atlanta, Georgia; Amanda Swartz (Ralph) of Holly Springs, NC; Judson Davis (Katie) of Wilmington, NC; Adam Garry (Jennings) of Asheville. NC; Mary Davis Tiahlo (Matt) of Winchester, England; and Thomas James Davis (Lindsay) of Indianapolis, Indiana.  She is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Porter Minton, Abraham Garry, Hannah Swartz, Miles Swartz and Finn Conway.

Priscilla spent her childhood in Upper Arlington, Columbus, Ohio, and enjoyed summers swimming, fishing and canoeing with her immediate family as well as aunts, uncles and cousins at the Taft compound on Lake Charlevoix in Evelyn Orchards, Michigan. Horseback riding was a favorite pastime in her youth.

She attended Ohio State University (OSU) where she was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority.  She graduated from the OSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 1942, the only woman graduate in her class.   Shortly after graduation she married a veterinary school classmate, Dr. James Robert Davis and in July 1942 they moved to Wabash, Indiana and began their veterinary careers.  In 1946 they moved to Franklin, Indiana where they established a large and small animal veterinary practice, and raised their three children.  While living in Franklin, Priscilla was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Psi Iota Xi Sorority and PEO Chapter BS in which she held various offices.

Priscilla moved to High Point, North Carolina in 1986 to be near her daughter, Barbara.  She became a member of the First Presbyterian Church of High Point and was active in Circle#1 Bible Study and "Women of the Church".  She transferred to the High Point PEO Chapter AO and while there received her 50 year membership pin.  Priscilla also volunteered at High Point Regional Hospital for 15 years and participated in the "Study Buddy" program at Northwood Elementary School.

Priscilla was an avid reader, loved animals, especially dogs and horses.   She enjoyed hiking with her family until her mid 80's.  The annual family gathering at Wrightsville Beach, Blowing Rock, or Montreat North Carolina was always the highlight of each year.

She was independent, fair and open minded, beautiful inside and out and always a lady.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church of High Point, Hospice of the Piedmont or PEO Chapter AO.

A memorial service celebrating Priscilla’s life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of High Point at 2 pm on August 12, 2017 with Dr. Kevin Broman- Fulks & Associate Minister Erin Bowers officiating.   A private inurnment service will be conducted by the family prior to the memorial service.
