High Point – Earl “Butch” Franklin Brooks, Jr., 65, passed away at home surrounded by family on Friday, May 15, 2020.
Butch was born in High Point on October 16, 1954 to the late Earl Franklin Brooks, Sr. and Beatrice Eileen Turner Brooks.
Butch was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He attended Green Street Baptist Church until his health would no longer allow him to go. He had been a member of the Oakview Lion’s Club and the High Point Jaycees. Butch was an active member of his community and wanted to do his part by becoming a County Volunteer firefighter and a PROUD member of the Army National Guard for nearly a decade.
He was retired from Thomas Built Buses and a pioneer to the Local UAW 5287.
Butch is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Danni Brooks; sons, Ernie Brooks and wife, Honey of Mississippi, Andrew Brooks and wife, Khristin of High Point; three grandchildren, Morgan Brooks, Cameron Brooks and Avery Brooks.
Paying of Respects without the family the family present from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, March 19, 2020 will take place at Cumby Family Funeral Service. A private celebration of Earl’s life will be held at Cumby Family Funeral Service at 1015 Eastchester Drive in High Point. Burial will be at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
