Edith Vaughan

THOMASVILLE-Edith Vaughan, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 6, 2022.

She was born on May 9, 1935 in Ashe County, NC, a daughter of the late Giles and Margie Iris Powers Testerman and was a 1953 graduate of Ashe High School. A resident of Thomasville most of her life, she worked for Adams Millis and later with Davidson County Senior Services; where she volunteered after retirement. She was a faithful member of Landmark Baptist Church. Edith enjoyed the outdoors; especially working in her flowers. Her true love and passion was traveling with her best friend, Bessie Morgan and spending time with her family. She loved her Lord, her family, and her friends and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents preceding her in death were her husbands, Frank Edward Davis, Jr. and Paul Vaughan; a son, Ricky Davis; 2 grandsons, Jason and Nathan Lee and a brother, Carl Tester man. 

She is survived by four children; Susan Parker and her husband, Michael of Trap Hill, Sandra Harris and her husband, Scott of New London, Sherri Price of Yadkinville, Joseph “Jody” Davis and his wife, Ladena of Wallburg and a sister, Thelma Woodie (Vance) of West Jefferson. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Crystal, Jeremy, Gregory, Makayla, Shyanne, Justin, Jessica, Josh and Angela and her great grandchildren, Airrielle, Haiden, Hunter, Waylon, Chandler, Layana, Adiley, Shelby, Braelyn, Gaven, Landan, Brayden, Kaylei, Bryanna, Jazlynn, and Jaxson. 

A service to celebrate Edith’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 11, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale with Pastor Amos Mashburn officiating. The committal service will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday afternoon from 12:45 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
