Edna Mary Peace

Edna Mary Layell Peace, 100, a former resident of Archdale, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at GrayBrier Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on September 16, 1917 in Fries, VA, to the late Robert and Mary Taylor Layell.  Edna was a former member of the Archdale Flower Club. She enjoyed her animals and spending time with her family. Edna was also an avid reader of her KJV Holy Bible, and even at age 100, she could still say her ABC’s backwards . 

In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband, Jacob Dennis Peace, Sr.; a son, Bobby Whitaker; 2 brothers and a sister.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her son, Jake Peace and his wife Tina; 5 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
