Mr. Edward Lee Davis, 74, resident of Trinity, died January 5, 2019 at Hospice Home at High Point.
Mr. Davis was born January 17, 1944 in Spartanburg County, SC, a son to the late Clarence F. and Cornelia Blackwell Davis. He was a resident of this area 55 years and had attended Trindale Baptist Church. Ed loved to work and viewed it as his hobby. He spent 28 years at U.F.C.W. and later, another 23 years at The Assurance Group. Attending the ballgames of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was his other hobby. He always made sure he had plenty of dollars in his pocket for them at the concession stand. On July 21, 1963 he married the former Beverly Moore who survives of the residence.
Also surviving are brothers, Clarence F. Davis Jr. and wife Mariam of Taylors, SC, Gerald D. Davis and wife Bonnie of High Point and Donnie L. Davis of High Point; three grandchildren, Lana Davis and husband Bryan of Thomasville, Lauren Britton and husband Trey of High Point and Madi Beeson of Greenville, SC; three great grandchildren, Landon, Bryson Edward and Isabel; mother-in-law, Doris Moore of Trinity; and three very special friends, Chloe, Brutus and Chubs. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pam Beeson and son, Ronnie Davis, in 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Rev. Tony Moore officiating. A private family entombment will be held Tuesday at Floral Garden Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
