Edward Lee Williard

Edward Lee Williard, 90, reached the end of his earthly journey and entered into heaven Friday, March 9, 2018 at Hospice Home at High Point.

Edward was born in High Point, September 20, 1927 to the late Jesse Clay and Evia Lena Willard Williard.  He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Nina Hester Williard  to whom he was married for 45 years, three brothers; Henry Milton Williard, Jesse Monroe Williard, Daniel Gray Williard, and three sisters; Ida Irene W. Smith, Mary Catherine W. Thomas, Martha Jane W. Clegg.

Edward was a lifelong Dairy Farmer on a second generation family owned farm, where he had worked alongside of his father, brother and son-in-law.  It was on the farm he was happiest and especially loved all the animals.  He was a gentleman with a kind heart, who knew his neighbors and would check-up and care for them when there was a need.  He will be missed by those who knew him.

Those who are left to cherish his memories are his two daughters; Frances “Fran” Williard Marshall and husband, B.G. Jr. of High Point, Joan Williard Behrens and husband Philip of Winston-Salem, two grandchildren; Margot Behrens, Arto Behrens , along with several nieces and nephews.

A sevice to honor Edward’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, 1015 Eastchester Drive in High Point.  Elder Steven Nichols will officiate and the burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Park in Winston-Salem.

The family will receive friends 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday March 12, 2018 at Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.
