Thomasville – Elisa Darlene Sprouse Roach, 59, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Atrium Health WFB – High Point Medical Center.
Darlene was born in Randolph County on June 28, 1963 to the late Jackie Sprouse and Linda Rose Sprouse. In addition to her parents, a brother, Johnny Sprouse also preceded her in death.
Darlene is survived by her significant other, Mike Younger of the home; a brother, Chris Sprouse of Trinity; a sister, Revonda Sprouse of Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.
Darlene played many roles in her lifetime. She was a mother figure, grandmother figure, aunt, wife figure, sister, and friend.
If you ever needed to talk, she was there. If you needed a hug, she was there. She was a true friend with pure love for those she cared about and she let you know that she loved you. She didn’t have a lot of material things, but she was rich in love, kindness, compassion, strength and wisdom.
Darlene wasn’t able to have kids of her own and I believe that’s what drove and gave her the ability to love and cherish any and every kid that came into her life as if they were her own. If she wasn’t loving on kids she was loving on her 5 fur babies.
Darlene was held back by her health a lot of times, but that never stopped her from trying to be the best she could be for her loved ones. She was a fighter that had faced many challenges before, but hard times are what creates strong people and she was strong.
She may be physically departed from us but the love and her memory will last forever.
A celebration of Darlene’s life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Narrow Path Baptist Church at 4090 Denton Road in Thomasville, officiated by Pastor Joshua Manring. The family will greet friends following the service.
