Elizabeth "Betty" (Dangel) Miedwig

Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” Dangel Miedwig, 94, resident of High Point, died October 12, 2019 at her home.

She was born November 25, 1924, a daughter to John E. and Mary Regina Freund Dangel in Tulare, South Dakota.  After growing up there, she later lived in Washington (Seattle), Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Illinois (Chicago) and Mississippi before coming to High Point, North Carolina in 1975.  She was a member of Spirit of Life Ministries.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Marshall Miedwig Jr. in 1996.

Surviving is a son, John E. Miedwig Jr. and wife Susan of South Elgin, Illinois; four daughters, Rosemary Collins and husband John of Silver Spring, Maryland, Debbora “Debi” Stivers and husband Robert of High Point, Rebecca Vickers and husband William of Dallas, Texas and Joanne Wright and husband Kyle of Michigan; two sisters, Genevieve McKeown and Sister Evelyn Dangel S.S.N.D. both of Minnesota; sixteen grandchildren, John Collins, Michael Collins, Mark Collins, Karen Collins, Kevin Collins, Jennifer Collins, Brian Collins, John Miedwig, Matthew Miedwig, Justin Miedwig, Christi Stivers, Douglas Stivers, Andrew Frickle, Carol Anne Frickle, Samuel Frickle and Nathan Frickle; and numerous great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.  Interment will follow the service at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter, Debi Stivers.  Memorials may be directed to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr. High Point, N.C. 27262.
