Elizabeth "Lib" Hannah (Williams) Flynt

HIGH POINT – Elizabeth “Lib” Hannah Williams Flynt, 77, died Saturday, March 17, 2018, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Lib was born April 28, 1940, in Sylva, NC, and was the daughter of the late Roy Lee and Mae Messer Williams.  She was a licensed cosmetologist and was owner and operator of Lib Flynt's Beauty Shop.  She was also a certified nurses’ assistant and was a devoted caregiver for many people.  Until her health declined, she was an active member of Green Street Baptist Church.  She enjoyed gardening, landscaping, dancing (especially shag), and music, but her greatest love and passion was her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Ethel Moore, Imogene Williams, Linda Craine, and Carolyn Moore.

Lib is survived by her husband, John Randy Flynt, whom she married on April 13, 1969; three sons, Richard Gary Thrift, Rodney Todd Flynt and his wife, Kelly, and Jason Randolph Flynt and his wife, Heather, all of High Point; five grandchildren, Jennifer Thrift, Tyler Flynt, Kayla Flynt, Jodi Flynt and Madi Flynt; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Irene Craine, Marie Turpin, Wanda Siceloff and her husband, Doug, and Cathy Graves; two brothers, Charles Williams and Frank Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service celebrating Lib’s life will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Green Street Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Loy and Frank Hensley officiating.  Burial will follow at Floral Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.
