Mrs. Ellen Rosetta Wilson Flynn, 79, of Trinity, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018, at the Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
Born December 27, 1938, in High Point, Ellen was the daughter of the late Albert Clifford and Bessy Leona Poole Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jackie Sykes and Bobby Sykes. Ellen was a homemaker and also worked as a substitute teacher for Randolph County Schools. She was a member of Amity Hills Baptist Church in Asheboro, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, knitting and cross stitching. She also loved going to the beach to hunt sharks teeth.
Ellen is survived by her husband of 28 years, Jim Flynn, of the home; three children, Larry Sigmon, of Roxboro, Mona Duncan and husband, Rhett, of Asheboro, and Kevin Sigmon and wife, Rocanne, of Robbinsville; one step-son, Steve Flynn; seven grandchildren, Casey Rubin, Tiffany Matthews, Larry Markwell, Nicole Sigmon, Ashley Evans, Lindsay Campbell, and Amanda Orr; and 19 great grandchildren.
Funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, officiated by Rev. Barry Wall. Interment will follow in the Hickory Chapel Wesleyan Church Cemetery in High Point. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the missions fund at Amity Hills Baptist Church in Asheboro, or to Hospice of Randolph County.
