BURLINGTON – Ernest Clayborn Crawford, 78, a long-time resident of Archdale, died Friday, August 9, 2019, at Liberty Commons Nursing Center in Burlington.
He was born July 7, 1941, in San Joaquin County, California, and was the son of the late William L. and Alta McCreight Crawford. He received multiple Bachelor’s degree from College of the Pacific in Stockton, CA, Southwestern College and Bethany Nazarene College, both in Oklahoma City, and also attended classes at UNC-G. He retired in 1997 after thirty-two years in teaching with the High Point and Randolph County Schools. He was a long-time member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church of High Point and a member of the Greensboro and High Point Gem and Minerals Clubs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy O’Ham Crawford; and a son-in-law, David Pardo.
Ernest is survived by his children, Dr. William L. Crawford and wife, Holly, of Morehead City and Anita Pardo of Jamestown; four grandchildren, Andrew Pardo, Alexandra Pardo, William L. Crawford, Jr., and Abigail Crawford; and a sister, Janet Nellis of Stockton, CA.
Graveside service celebrating Ernest’s life will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will speak with friends following the service at the cemetery.
