Kernersville – Estelle Odom Elliott, 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at Piney Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation surrounded by her loving family.
Estelle was born in the Gray’s Creek area of North Carolina on August 1, 1937 to the late Grover Cleveland Odom and Cora Lee Baxley Odom. During her life she lived in California and Massachusetts, before moving back to North Carolina in 1984. She was a former member of Green Springs Baptist Church and most recently attended Bunker Hill United Methodist Church in Kernersville.
Being a woman of strong faith, she loved caring for her children and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren to whom she passed along her strong faith. She always loved and enjoyed being around children and the outdoors. Her other passions included shopping, reading fiction and listening to gospel and country music.
In addition to her parents Estelle was preceded in death by three sons, Danny Godwin (1971), Dalton Godwin (2016) and Kenneth Godwin (2018); a daughter, Deborah Godwin 1964; brothers, Robert and Grover Odom and sister, Mary Thompson.
Those who will cherish Estelle’s memories are her daughters, Wanda Johns Davis and her husband, Robert of High Point and Stacey LaFleche of Massachusetts; grandchildren, J.T. Turner, Amanda Domina and her husband, David, Jennifer Godwin, Delaney Davis and Hannah Davis; three Great-grandchildren, Bentley Domina, Chase Domina and Lance Pruitt; sister, Rachel Livermore and her husband, Ray of Hope Mills. As well as her many loving friends and church family.
Due to the present situation, a private burial at Floral Garden Park Cemetery will be held with the family, with a public memorial service to be held at a later date.
