Esther Lea (Walker) Pitzer

High Point – Mrs. Esther Lea Walker Pitzer, 82, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Westchester Manor.

Born February 3, 1939, in Burlington, Esther was the daughter of the late Thomas Graham and Lillie Mills Walker. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Elon College, and began her teaching career in Virginia Beach prior to moving to High Point to teach math at Ferndale Middle School. Esther later graduated from UNC Greensboro and obtaining her business degree in accounting. She was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.

Esther is survived by her husband of 57 years, Harold Curtis Pitzer; two children, Patrick Pitzer and wife, Jennifer, of Fleetwood, and Lucinda “Luci” P. Hill, of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Becky Lutterloh, of Burlington, and Mary Alice Myers, of Durham; and a brother, Thomas Walker, of Burlington.

In keeping with Esther’s wishes, services will be private.
