Ethel Louise Byerly Tucker, age 79, a longtime Lexington resident, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at Wake Forest Baptist Health/High Point Medical Center.
She was born June 12, 1941, in Guilford County, a daughter of the late Troy and the Lily Paige Byerly. She retired from High Point Furniture, and was active member of Straightway Baptist Church, as long as her health permitted. Ethel enjoyed auctions, R V camping, and traveling; especially to the beach and mountains. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett Glass; son, Troy Eugene Tucker; her sister, Doris Johnson and her brother, Clifford Byerly.
She is survived by her son, Jeffery Scott Tucker of Lexington; 10 grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will held Thursday, October 15, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, with Reverend Roger Carmichael and Pastor Tammy Borsos officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery in High Point. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 14, from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
