Frances Mae (Blakely) Elliott

High Point – Frances Mae Blakely Cochran Elliott, 93, went to meet her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at the Hospice Home in High Point.

Born May 5, 1927, in High Point, Frances was the daughter of the late Ellis and Gertha Miller Blakely. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Sherman Cochran; her second husband, Donald Elliott; daughter, Patti Hejl; sisters, Mabel Womack and Elizabeth Hayworth; and brothers, William Blakely and Ellis Blakely, Jr. Frances was a lifelong member of Green Street Baptist Church where she served in the nursery and was a member of the choir. She worked as the office manager for Culp Inc., taught pre-school at High Point Christian Academy and was a sitter for Home Instead. Frances was a voracious reader and enjoyed doing the daily crossword and working on jigsaw puzzles.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Lisa Waldroup; granddaughter Hunter Hejl; grandsons, Joshua Waldroup, Brooks Hejl, Graehme Hejl, and Griffin Hejl; son-in-law, Phillip Hejl and wife, Marta; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
