Frances McRae Griffin

ARCHDALE- Frances McRae Griffin, 87, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018.

She was born on March 11, 1931 in Guilford County, to the late Scott and Ellen Stafford McRae.  A resident of this area all her life, she had worked as a seamstress for Kayby Mills and Jeanette Maternity, and was a member of Allen Jay Baptist Church. Frances enjoyed sewing and cross-stitching. Her true love and passion was her cat, Butterball, her dog, Chopper, and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother; sister, grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was her husband, Edgar Junior Griffin.

She is survived by her children, Sara Pierce and her husband, Larry, Edgar “Bubby” Griffin, June Griffin and her companion, Buddy Hall, Roger Griffin and David Griffin; her brother, Jimmy McRae; her sister, Barbara Johnson; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

A service to celebrate Frances’ life will be held on Friday afternoon, June 15^th, at 2 o’clock, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with Pastor Joe Bare officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Friday, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home, and other times at 6927 Cedar Square Road, Archdale.
