Fred Breedlove, Jr.

Mr. Kemp “Fred” Breedlove Jr., 75, resident of Sophia, died April 20, 2021 at High Point Medical Center.

He was born March 30, 1946 in Randolph County, a son to the late Kemp ”Fred” Breedlove Sr. and Emma Humble Breedlove.  As a resident of this area all his life, he was self-employed, operating his own retail store, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  In 1991, he married the former Louise Harris, who survives of the residence.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Lambert.

Also surviving are four brothers, Gary Breedlove and wife Linda, Jimmy Breedlove, Johnny Breedlove, and Lester Breedlove; and two sisters, Peggy Jolly and husband Joel and Julie Coltrane and husband Jack.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Rev. Steve McSwain officiating.  Interment will follow at Poplar Ridge Friends Meeting in Trinity.  The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to Hope Baptist Church, 4872 Old Edgar Rd.
