Gary Wayne Parks

TRINITY – Gary Wayne Parks, 68, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020, at Hospice Home at High Point.

He was born March 21, 1951, in Guilford County and was the son of Emmett Arthur and Annis Brown Parks. He graduated from Trinity High School Class of 1970 and joined his father in the family construction business.  He was also a martial arts instructor for many years. Gary was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He also enjoyed 60’s and 70’s music.

Gary is survived by his sister, Betty Parks Briles; cousins, Shirley Parks Walls, Joyel Foster and Mitzi Christopher whom he loved like a son and daughter; and a host of beloved friends.

Funeral service celebrating Gary’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 24, 2020 in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service with Rev. Amy Coles officiating.  Burial will follow at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 PM Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
