Gene Anderson

Mr. Wilford Eugene “Gene” Anderson, 87, resident of Asheboro, died June 26, 2020 at his residence.

He was born November 29, 1932 in Whiteville N.C., a son to the late Gorm and Lina Moore Anderson.  As a resident of this area over 50 years, he worked as a supervisor first for Burlington Industries and later for Tex-Elastic.  He also attended Love of God Baptist Church.

Surviving is his wife, Lena Mae Spencer Anderson of the residence and his sister, Eulee Evans of Whiteville.  He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Gene Anderson and five brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.  Interment will follow at Randolph Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Randolph, 416 Vision Dr. Asheboro, N.C. 27203.
