Geneva Hood Penny

Mrs. Geneva Hood Penny, 70, resident of Sophia, died November 29, 2019 at her home.

She was born January 7, 1949 in Marlboro County, South Carolina and later moved to this area in 1977.  During her career she worked in furniture and, most recently, was a certified nursing assistant at Graybrier Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Surviving is her mother, Annie Ruth Alder of High Point; two sons, Leroy David Lane and wife Cheryle of High Point and Jonnie Ray Lane of Sophia; a brother, Donald Ray Hood of High Point; a granddaughter, Jessica Lane Deel and husband Cody of Abilene, Texas; and two great grandchildren, Coy and Clara Deel.  She was preceded in death by her father, Hammy S. Hood and her brother, Steve Hood.

A time of visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.  Memorials may be directed to Landmark Baptist Church, 6055 Sunset View Dr. High Point, N.C. 27263.
