Mrs. Geneva Crowder Warren, 96, died August 13, 2018 at Hospice Home at High Point.
Mrs. Warren was born July 16, 1922 in Guilford County, a daughter to the late Maxey J. and Lillian Hawthorne Crowder. She attended High Point College, where she was active in all intramural sports and was voted the May Queen. In addition to sports, she also loved to dance and was especially fond of the Jitterbug. She was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and in earlier years was very active, helping prepare meals for various functions and events. In 1947, she married Lloyd H. Warren who preceded her in death in 2015. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded by a son, Gary C. Warren in 1970; three brothers, Rev. Richard Crowder, John Crowder and Maxey Crowder; and three sisters, Louise Leonard, Edith Cloniger and Helen Finch.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda McKinney and husband John of High Point and Nancy Lee Warren of Morganton; a son, Joseph Lloyd Warren and wife Nancy of Oklahoma; two sisters, Joan Christy of Gastonia and Mildred Little of Chapel Hill; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 28, at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30-11:00 a.m. in the Asbury Room at the church.
