Colfax – Genevieve Irene Brown Moore, 90, died peacefully at her residence in River Landing on Monday, June 22, 2020.
Genevieve was born in Flemington, West Virginia on February 23, 1930 to the late Jennings Brown and Nellie Mae Munday Brown. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Clay Moore in 2015; and sisters, Shirley Howell and Norma Ott.
“Gen” or “Genny” as she was called by her friends was an avid volunteer in the community at Urban Ministries and her churches. She was a member of Friendly Hills Church and was deeply rooted in her faith. Gen was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her children, Michael Moore (Jonine) and Rodney Moore (Cindy) of High Point and Jennifer Moore Oldham of Charlotte; grandchildren, Brian Moore (Mary Alice), David Moore (Kristen), Andrew Moore, Alexandra Oldham, Morgan Oldham, Sydney Oldham, Sheridan Oldham; great-grandchildren, William Moore, Alan Moore; sisters, Polly Matthey, Maxine Harding, Donna Lake.
A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 29, 2020 at the Salisbury VA Cemetery, (enter into the cemetery from Hedrick Street off Brenner Avenue) with John Sides officiating.
