George Enoch Suits

On Saturday, September 26, 2020, George Enoch Suits, loving husband and father of two, passed away at the age of eighty-two.

George was born April 27, 1938 in High Point, a son of Edward Walter Suits and Rosie Mae Fields.  He worked at Furniture City Glass and Mirror for over twenty-five years.  George beat small cell lung cancer and was a survivor for twenty years.  He was a dedicated husband for sixty years, marrying his beloved wife, Jo Ann Groce Suits, on June 3, 1960.  Together they raised a son, Daniel Craig Suits, and a daughter, Cynthia (Cindy) Ann Suits Johnson.

George was a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and served with the Baptist Men at Trinity Baptist Church.  He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and it was evident in the way he treated others, with love and kindness.  He always put the needs of others before his own.  He enjoyed spending time with his church family, visiting the shut-ins from the church, delivering meals on wheels, and relaxing with his buddies waiting on the fish to bite.  He loved others, but one of his greatest joys was being a grandfather to his granddaughter, Hannah Rebecca Johnson, and grandson, Stephen Daniel Suits.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward; his mother, Rosie; and his brother, Joseph Edward Suits.  Surviving is his wife, Jo Ann; his son, Daniel Suits and wife Susan; his daughter, Cynthia (Cindy) Johnson and husband Calvin; his grandson, Stephen Suits and wife Austyn; and his granddaughter, Hannah Johnson.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 28, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Rev. Morris Little, of Trinity Baptist, officiating.  Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point.  Memorials may be directed to Trinity Baptist Church at P.O.
