Georgia Belle (Hayes) Kuykendall

Georgia Kuykendall, formerly of High Point, passed away February 4th in Rome, GA.  She had been living with her son and his wife in Cartersville, GA.

Georgia was born on April 28, 1930 in Morristown, TN to Harmon Lee Hayes and Ruth Holt Hayes. She was the last born of 12 children. Georgia married Joe Kuykendall in 1949 in Morristown and they moved to High Point in 1957. She worked as a secretary at some of High Point's historical companies including Tomlinson Furniture, Anvil-Brand and retired from Macfield.  Georgia was a long time member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in High Point.  She enjoyed reading and writing spiritual poetry and loved her cats.

Georgia was predeceased by her husband Joe. She is survived by her son Michael and wife Jean; sister, Irma Lee Helton of Morristown, TN; grandchildren, Reba Calvert of Clayton, NC, Dewey Ball of North Palm Beach, FL, Joseph Kuykendall and Shina Kuykendall of Cartersville, GA; great grandchildren, Kaile, James and Matthew Stanley, nieces and nephews; god daughter, Donette Williamson; and special helper, Danielle McGee of Cartersville, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.  Interment will follow the service at Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
