Gertrude Sarah (Mounce) Hiatt

Gertrude Sarah Hiatt, 97, of High Point went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Abbotts Creek Center, Lexington, NC.

She was born August 17, 1921 to the late Robert Lee Mounce and Alice Mabe Mounce.  In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Ralph Hiatt, on January 16, 1998 and three brothers, Paul Mounce, Rufus Mounce and James Mounce.

She was a native of High Point. Gertrude was employed for over 25 years by Slane Hosiery Mill and over 5 years by K & W Cafeteria in High Point. 

Gertrude was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in High Point.  She loved her family and provided for her family by working diligently on their behalf.

Gertrude is survived by two sons, Ronald Lee Hiatt (Marguerite) of Charlotte, NC and Darrell Hiatt (Vicki) of Tobaccoville, NC, as well as seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  

The family will receive friends from 11:30 until 12:30pm on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Cumby Family Funeral Service, 1015 Eastchester Drive in High Point.  A graveside service will follow at 1:00pm at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Dr. W. Joel Campbell officiating.
