ARCHDALE - Gladys Moffitt Davis, 92, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2019, at Pine Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Thomasville.
She was born March 28, 1927, in High Point and was the daughter of the late Benjamin Talmadge and Arcadia Lamb Moffitt. She attended Oak Hill Elementary School and High Point High School, and in later years earned her GED. She was a longtime member of Ward Street United Methodist Church. She looked forward to working each day at Acme Sample Books where she was last employed prior to retiring. Formerly of US Highway 311 in Archdale, Gladys resided at Pine Ridge for the past 10 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Reid Davis; and a brother, Leon M. Moffitt, Sr.
She is survived by sons, Gerald Davis (Delores) of High Point and Dwight Davis (June) of Trinity; grandchildren Christopher Davis of San Antonio, Texas; Danielle Davis Brawley (David) of Denver, Colorado; Duncan Davis (Tricia) of Thomasville; and Jason Davis of Lexington; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral service celebrating Gladys’ life will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 2, 2019, in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service with Pastor Duncan Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 PM Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
