Glenda Gayle Fleming died peacefully in her sleep on January 10, 2022, after a brief illness with COVID. Born January 16, 1953, Glenda was preceded in death by her mother, the late Edna Trinity Brewer Beitler, and her father, the late Fred Manard Fleming.
Born and raised in High Point, North Carolina, and having lived in Hampton, VA, Glenda had many friends and family members. She is survived by her daughter, Brigitte Fleming Lamon (Brian), and her two grandchildren. Being “Nāmaw” to Cooper and Briley meant everything to Glenda. After just recently visiting them for Christmas, the excitement of making memories was shared with many.
Also, surviving are her siblings, Marsha Fleming Creel of Aynor, SC, Freddie JoeDon Fleming (Joe) of Hampton, VA and Elizabeth Ann Fleming (Libby) of Newport News, VA. Ms. Fleming had many nieces, nephews, and cousins and she loved every one of them with a special love.
As an active member of Bales Wesleyan Church in Jamestown, NC, she enjoyed her volunteer work with the Food Bank and the Feeding of the Children on Wednesday evenings. Glenda was well-loved and will be greatly missed by her church family. There will be no public service for Glenda. Those desiring to leave a memorial on Glenda’s behalf may do so at RallyFoundation.org or Bales Wesleyan Church.
