Mr. Harmon Franklin Lehman, 90, a resident of River Landing passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019.
Mr. Lehman was born on October, 16, 1928 in High Point to the late William F. Lehman and Ruby Macy Lehman. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert H. Lehman and Col. Wm. P Lehman.
In August 1948, Harmon entered the U.S. Army where he was stationed at the White Sands Proving Grounds facility and also served more than three years in Korea. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and honorably discharged as a Sergeant in May 1952. On August 2, 1952 he married Dorothy M. Cox of High Point. They were married for almost 60 years before her passing on July 22, 2012. A resident of this area all his life, he retired from Kay-Lyn, Inc in 1990 where he worked as a mechanic. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of High Point and former associate deacon. He volunteered with Mobile Meals and Hospice for many years.
Mr. Lehman is survived by his daughter, Kim Lehman McGee and husband, Leon of Matthews; nephews Bill Lehman of Palm Springs, CA and Bob Lehman of Colorado Spring, CO.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Cumby Family Funeral Service, 1015 Eastchester Drive in High Point. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service with Reverend Robbin Mundy officiating and burial will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
