Howard E. Brown

Howard E. Brown, 83, passed away November 16, 2018.  He was born October 14, 1935, in North Wilkesboro, NC, to the late Norman and Emaline Brown.  After over 20 years of service, Howard retired as a Service Manager at Berico Heating and Air.  He was a member of Chandler’s Grove United Methodist Church in New London, NC, for many years before relocating to High Point.  An avid outdoorsman, Howard enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening, and loved trips to the mountains and the beach with family.  He was very handy and could fix anything.  Howard’s dedication to family and friends was evident in all he did, and he will be remembered for his kind and compassionate nature.  A loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, he will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Swift Brown; and four siblings, Robert Brown, Vestal Brown, Velma Pennington and Bea Dillard.

He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Patricia Brown Rivers (Brad), David J. Brown (Kathy) and Connie Brown Weant (Bob); six siblings, Elsie Barefoot, Homer Brown, Katherine Byrd, Emalene Sheets, Jean Jennings and Wanda Morton; eight grandchildren, Benjamin Brown, Matthew Brown, J. Michael Underwood, Diana Brown Underwood, Karen Underwood Carr, Allison Brown Evans, Rebecca Leigh Weant and Jonathan R. Weant; and fifteen great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018, at First United Methodist Church in High Point, with Rev. John Fitzgerald officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church.
