HIGH POINT – Jack Calvin Latham, 91, died Monday, May 13, 2019, at High Point Medical Center.
He was born December 20, 1927, in Allreds, NC, and was the son of the late Susie Caroline Latham. He was a retired machinist from Van Holt Machine Company after 42 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran during World War II and the Korean War and an avid deer hunter.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Whitt.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Marie Walker Latham, whom he married on December 29, 1951; two sons, Barry C. Latham, and wife, Muriel, of Thomasville and Derek Latham of High Point; four grandchildren, Corey Latham, Jenny Parker and her husband, Ryan, Morgan Latham and Ryan Latham; four great-grandchildren, Henley Parker, Brody Zakos, Waylon Rios and Makynlee Latham; sister, Irene Cox of Asheboro; and two brothers, Kenneth Whitt of Randolph County and Hoyt Whitt of Farmer, NC.
Graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, May 16, 2019, at Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will speak with friends following the service at the cemetery.
