TRINITY – Jackie Turner, 64, died Saturday, July 25, 2020, at his residence.
He was born June 22, 1956, in Wise County, Virginia and was the son of the late Elmer Stewart and Fannie Belle Mullins Turner. He attended Whispering Hope Baptist Church and had worked with Davis Furniture for many years. Jackie enjoyed riding motorcycles, enjoyed the mountains and was always willing to help other people.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heather Hughes; sister, Barbara Lusk; brother, Conroy Turner; and his chocolate lab, Harley.
Jackie is survived by his sons, William Turner (Tosha) of Lexington and Jimmy Hughes (Crystal) of Denton; grandchildren; Wesley, Brandon, Izahia, Jackson, Nevaeh, Dakota Ashley, April, Harley, Hannah and Ruby Sue; his significant other, Johanna “Honda” Boyd of Trinity; three sisters, Virginia Warden (Teddy) of Bluefield, WV, Mary Booher (Denny) of St. Paul, VA, and Edith Turner of Trinity; six brothers, Elmer Turner, Jr. (Regina) of St. Paul, VA, Earl Turner (Priscilla) of Trinity, Jerl Turner (Debbie) of Thomasville, Robert Turner of Randleman, Freddie Turner of Bluefield, WV and Ronnie Neece (Susie) of Abingdon, VA; his best friends, Terry Nall, Leroy Walker and Vernon Sechrest; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service celebrating Jackie’s life will be held 11:00 AM Thursday in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Rev. Roger Carmichael and Rev. Mike Poindexter officiating. Burial will follow at Turner Family Cemetery located on his property in Trinity.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
