Jackson "Jack" Ernest McDougal

HIGH POINT – Jackson “Jack” Ernest McDougal, 73, died Monday, May 7, 2018, at High Point Regional Hospital.

He was born October 19, 1944, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and was the son of the late Walter and Jacqueline McDougal.  He attended the University of Maine at Orono and served in the U.S. Army from 1963-1966.  He was a retired engineer and was a non-denominational ordained minister. He had previously lived in Hyder, Alaska, and after retirement, lived in Jade City, British Columbia, Canada, where he spent many years running the Jade Store and Gift Shop.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jesse and Jerry McDougal.

He is survived by his wife, Claire Stogdill McDougal, whom he married on June 2, 1978; a daughter, Kathy Rae McCormack (Stuart) of Terrance, British Columbia, Canada; a step-daughter, Donna Kissane (James Cornell) of Winston-Salem; a step-son, Stephen Ratti (Katherine) of Hackettown, New Jersey; four grandchildren, Kimberly Wypych, Morgen Craft, Joseph McCormack, and Matthew McCormack; one step-grandson, Christopher Ratti; and a brother, Joel McDougal (Joyce) of South Portland, Maine.

Memorial service celebrating Jack’s life will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 11, 2018, in the Life Tribute Center of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.
