Jane Gregory Hobson

Jane Gregory Hobson, 82, of High Point passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at River Landing at Sandy Ridge.

Jane was born February 11, 1937 in Monroe, NC to the late Fred C. Hobson, Sr. and Miriam Tuttle Hobson.  She attended Greensboro College and graduated from UNC Chapel Hill.  Then she earned a master’s degree in library science at Emory University and worked as a librarian for Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia for 30 years. Over her life, she enjoyed traveling to many nations.  She was a lover of books and especially of opera, and she enjoyed singing in chuch choirs in her time in Atlanta.  She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of High Point.

Her husband, Fred William Boring of River Landing; a sister, Alice Hobson Dudley and a brother, Fred C. Hobson, Jr., survives Jane.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2019 at River Landing at Sandy Ridge with Reverend Robin Munday and a gathering time following the service for family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the organization Doctors Without Borders at P.O. Box 5030, Hagerstown MD 21741 which was among her favorite charities.
