Mrs. Baxter was born August 2, 1942 in Guilford County, a daughter to the late Grover Boyce and Dollie Slayton Alexander.  She was a member of Midway Baptist Church and enjoyed life, music and helping others.  She put everyone first rather than herself.  She was everyone’s Nana!

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018 in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.  Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 at the funeral home.

“My Nana meant the world to me.  I will miss her every day!  Her smile will remain forever in my heart.”……Jamie Baxter

“I will remember Nana for her kind spirit and love for everyone.  I was her heart, her joy and her Joey.  She would always tell me that she was proud of me and to always be strong for the Lord.  I will remember Nana for her smile, playing the piano and making homemade biscuits.  She was by my side all throughout my childhood and has helped make me the man I am today.”…………..Joey Calabro

To leave you with Janet’s words of wisdom: “Music is the key to a happy heart.  Music expresses what words cannot.”
