Jared Scott Powers

Jared Scott Powers, 37, of High Point N.C. passed away August 31, 2018 in Charlotte, N.C.

Jared was born in Winston-Salem N.C. on November 7, 1980 and was a graduate of Southwest Guilford High School. He was a creative artist, in both creating costumes with his mother as well as sketches and drawings. He was an extremely talented guitarist with the ability to listen to a tune and immediately play it. His personality was captivating as he had the ability to share his unique humor and make a room full of people laugh. He will be remembered as a kind soul who never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin “Eddie” Linville, Jr., paternal grandfather Edwin Linville Sr., and maternal grandparents Charles and Mildred Powers. Jared is survived by his mother, Jayne Lynne Powers; brother, James Jason Maxfield (wife Michelle Maxfield, child Kayle Maxfield); sister, Jackqueline Davis-Holmes (husband Ashton Holmes); daughter, Jalyn Keating-Powers and paternal grandmother, Rubye Linville. An acknowledgement to his Uncle and Aunt Vernon and Deborah Powers who played a major role in Jared’s life and upbringing.

Due to inclement weather, Jared's memorial reception has been rescheduled to 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Friday, September 21st, in the Life Tribute Center at Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.
