Jason Daniel Gardner

ARCHDALE – Jason Daniel Gardner, 53, died Monday, July 5, 2021 at his residence.

He was born September 20, 1967 in Laurens, South Carolina and was the son of Delores Johnson Martin and the late John William Gardner. He graduated from Chesnee High School and attended University of South Carolina-Upstate on an athletic scholarship. Jason remained an active athlete and was an avid golfer and pool player. He worked as a truck driver for Harris Teeter Distribution for many years.

Jason is survived by his mother and step-father, Delores Johnson Martin and Max Pettit of Tryon, NC; two brothers, Dennis Gardner (Irma) of Columbia, South Carolina and Kelly Gardner (Tammy) of Landrum, South Carolina; nephew, Steven Gardner (Christina); two nieces, Cassy Gardner Young (Todd) and Briana Stewart (Doug); four great-nephews; two great-nieces; step-sisters, Devon Petitt Henderson and Deborah Pettit; step-brother, Derek Pettit; step-niece, Jessica Dibdakova; and step-nephew, Dylan Pettit.

The family will conduct a service celebrating Jason's life from 2:00 to 5:00 PM Saturday, July 31, 2021 at BreakTime and Grill (997-A Asheville Highway, Spartanburg, SC 29307).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Way, Memphis, TN 38105.
