GREENSBORO- Mrs. Jeanette Owens Newton, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Whitestone Nursing Home.
She was born on May 30, 1933 in High Point to the late Cauley and Beulah Snyder Owens. She was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1951. She worked for Pilot Life as an Administrative Assistant, and retired after 38 years of service. Jeanette enjoyed crafting, traveling and family gatherings.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Doug Newton; her brothers, Phillip Owens and his wife, June, Alan Owens and his wife, Bunny and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday evening, April 23, from 6 until 7:30 p.m., at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale. A service to celebrate Jeanette’s life will be held on Saturday morning, April 24, at 10 a.m., at the graveside in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery, High Point. Pastor Steve Walsh will officiate.
