ARCHDALE – Jerry Allen Cochran, 71, died Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
He was born July 6, 1948, in Newton and was the son of the late John Hardy and Alice Sylvesta Ledford Cochran. Jerry was a proud veteran and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the VFW. He loved fishing and was a loving father and grandfather who always had a smile on his face.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Johnny and James Cochran; four sisters, Letha Shook, Ruth Cochran, Brenda Taylor, and Joyce Hawks; three brothers, Edward Cochran, Harold Cochran and Johnny Cochran.
Jerry is survived by six children, Jerry Cochran, Jr. (Bonnie) of Graham, Todd Cochran (Natasha) of Snow Camp, Jason Cochran (Daphne) of Burlington, Aaron Boone (Ashley) of Thomasville, Tracy Peele (Jeff) of Archdale, and Ashley Cochran (Curtis Bridgman) of Jamestown; two sisters, Carolyn Gaines and Wanda Goldston (Donnie); special friend, Diane Sparks of Asheboro; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral service celebrating Jerry’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 12, 2020, in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Rev. Roger Carmichael officiating. Burial will follow at Graham Memorial Park Cemetery in Graham.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, January 11, 2020, at the funeral home.
