Jesse Calvin Johnson

Mr. Jesse Calvin Johnson, 83, of High Point, passed away Monday, July 15, 2019, at the Hospice Home at High Point.

Born June 7, 1936, in High Point, Jesse was the son of the late Fred and Doreen Cornwall Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Glenda Bean, and brother, Ashburn Johnson. Jesse served in the United States Army for 20 years as a Military Police. Following his retirement from the Army, he worked for Guilford County Schools for a number of years before retiring a second time. Jesse enjoyed the outdoors either playing golf, hunting, or fishing. He also enjoyed woodworking and crosswords.

Jesse is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elisabeth Zacherl Johnson; three children, Monika Watson (Kelly), Linda Matthews (Bill), Calvin Johnson (Cindy); five grandchildren, Hannah Johnson, Chad Matthews, Jeremy Watson (Michelle), Michelle Watson, and Sarah Watson (Catherine); and four great grandchildren, Harper, Owen, Hattie, and Griffen Watson.

Services will be held at a later date. Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point is serving the family.
