Our aunt Jessie lived a full 102 years! Family meant the world to her and we loved hearing her stories of life as a child in Apex, NC.
She was a hairdresser for a short time before she began her long career with the United States Government in various positions in Personell. She lived with her sister Betty their entire lives in Apex, Washington, DC, and then High Point when they retired.
Jessie was an avid Washington Redskins fan and loved to watch football and college basketball. She also loved the beach and even had a home at Ocean Isle, NC for many years. Needlepoint kept her busy and her home is full of her beautiful art. She had many collections including pottery, choir dolls, lighthouses and anything with a cat on it in memory of her beloved cat Butterfly.
Aunt Jessie loved going out to eat and spending time with her family.
A special memory was her 100 year celebration 2 years ago where her whole family celebrated her life. She was a special aunt to us all who is already missed.
