Jimmy Ray Davis

RANDLEMAN-Jimmy Ray Davis, 73, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020.

He was born on October 27, 1946 in Guilford County, to the late Clifford and Irene Walls Davis. A resident of this area all his life, he was a veteran of the US Navy, serving as a Hospital Corpsman with a Marine Corps Fighting Unit in Vietnam. He was awarded the Purple Heart, 3 Bronze Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He retired from the Brick Industry, having worked at Cunningham Brick and Boren Brick.  Jimmy enjoyed fishing; especially at Harkers island, watching westerns, NASCAR and golf. His true love and passion was spending time with his family. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather and uncle and will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his sons, James Davis and his fiancé, Courtney Conklin, Jason Davis and his wife, Kelly; his brothers, Raymond Davis and his wife, Teresa, Clarence Davis and his wife, Jill; his sister, Linda Davis; his grandchildren, Kinsley and Blake Davis; his nephews, Brian Davis and Andy Nelson; his niece, Renee Dennis, and his special friend, Jackie Hoffman.

A service to celebrate Jimmy’s life will be held on Saturday morning, January 11, at 11 o’clock, at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale. Interment will follow in Randolph Memorial Park Cemetery, with Military Honors accorded by the Randolph County Honor Guard. His family will receive friends Friday evening, January 10, from 6 until 8 o’clock, at the funeral home.
