Jimmy Everette Hughes

SOPHIA-Jimmy Everette Hughes, 49, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022.

He was born on July 19, 1973 in Guilford County, a son of the late Edward Bethea and Kathleen Capps Hughes. He was a high school graduate and had many trade certifications he was proud of. He worked as a furniture mover and also did odd jobs. Jimmy cared for people and he gave in death, as he did in life, by being an organ donor.  He enjoyed cooking and a good meal, but his true love and passion was spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a man with a servant’s heart, who was a loving brother, uncle and friend and will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were six sisters, Tula Locklear, Lila Watson, Wilma Sellars, Margaret Garland, Carolyn Safriet and Joni Grindstaff and four brothers, Buddy Hughes, E.B. Hughes, Walter Hughes and Marion Hughes.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his sister, Melva Spivey; other special family members, Marilyn Skipper, Sharon Gasque, Vernon Grindstaff, and Michael Hughes. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
