Jo Ann (Campbell) Payne-Little

Jo Ann Campbell Payne-Little, 68, of Trinity passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at WFU Baptist Hospital.

Jo Ann was born September 26, 1950 to the late William Campbell and Ruth Ann Jenkins Campbell.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband of 25 years, James Payne; her second husband of 10 years, Howard Little; also four of her brothers, Frank, William, Horace and Robert Campbell.

Jo Ann was an “amazing Mom” who was “always there when needed” by her family and friends.  She was “Nana” to her two wonderful grandchildren who brought much joy to her life.  Her caring heart was shown in her job as a Certified Nurse’s Aide for most of her life working with Department of Social Services and several nursing homes.  She was a kind and compassionate lady.  She enjoyed growing her plants and flowers and sharing her natural green thumb with those she loved.  Jo Ann’s faith was established in her committed attendance of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Thomasville.

Those who will cherish her memories are her children, James Payne Jr(Amanda) of High Point and Joan Payne-White(Jonathan) of Archdale; step-daughters Laconya and Tenara; grandchildren, Lauren McAllister(Henry) and James Payne III; sister, Sarah Green; brothers, Albert, Johnny, and Joe Campbell; many nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Jo Ann’s life will be celebrated at 2:00pm on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service, 206 Trindale Road in Archdale.  Prior to the service the family will greet friends from 1:00 until 1:45 pm.  Reverend Linda Suggs will officiate the service and burial will be at a later date in Salisbury National Cemetery.
