JoAnne (Gray) Rich

THOMASVILLE – JoAnne Gray Rich, 78, formerly of High Point, died Monday, April 15, 2024, at High Point Medical Center.

JoAnne was born February 18, 1946, in Greenville, North Carolina, and was the daughter of the late Daniel Marvin and Gladys McLawhorn Gray. She attended East Carolina University and had previously worked at Flower Bakery and the Guilford County Health Department in High Point. JoAnne attended Mt. Pleasant Church in Thomasville. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, fishing and dolphins, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Erwin Rich, whom she married on October 7, 1967.

JoAnne is survived by her daughter, Holly Ferree (Joey) of Wallburg; son, Daniel Rich (April) of Thomasville; three grandchildren, Garrett Rich, Emeline Rich and Ansley Ferree; sister, Katrina McDougald of Benson; two brothers, Marvin Gray (Jackie) of Hurst, Texas, and Mike Gray (Joanne) of Stem, North Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial service celebrating JoAnne’s life will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Mt. Pleasant Church (6516 Old Greensboro Road, Thomasville) with Pastor Chris Clontz officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:45 to 2:45 PM Sunday at the church prior to the service.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date at Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville.
