Mrs. Joan Melinda Sugg Jacobs, 58, resident of High Point, died October 9, 2020 at Hospice Home at High Point.
She was born July 10, 1962 in Guilford County, a daughter to the late Darrell and Barbara Hicks Sugg. Joan was a resident of this area all her life and previously worked in home inspection administration. She enjoyed watching bible study classes on TV and also was an avid NASCAR fan. Above all, she loved and cherished time spent with her family, especially her daughter and grandchildren. In 2006, she married Charles Jeffrey “Jeff” Jacobs who survives of the residence.
Also surviving is her daughter, Barbara Gayle King (Dusty) of Thomasville; step son, C.J. Jacobs (Janna) of Minnesota; mother, Gayle Sugg of Myrtle Beach, SC; two sisters, Sherry McPherson (Jerome) of Trinity and Sabrina Fisher (Ronnie) of High Point; five grandchildren, Issac Turbeville, Logan Turbeville, Serenity Soles, Lillian Jacobs and Kennley-Joe Jacobs; six nieces and nephews, Shannon Walters (Jeremy), Kyle McPherson (Kim), Arron McPherson (Stacy), Adam Lawson (Felicia), Chase Fisher and Luke Fisher; and numerous great nieces and nephews. Her sister, Jamie Callahan, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday in the chapel of the Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery in High Point. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
