Jody Rowan Carroll

Mr. Jody Rowan Carroll, 55, resident of Madison, died September 21, 2020 at UNC Healthcare in Eden.

Jody was born July 18, 1965 in Guilford County, a son to Donald and Brenda Dillon Carroll, and grew up in the Wallburg community.  He worked with Hunter Farm Dairy in High Point and had been a resident of Madison since 2014 where he enjoyed his passion, the family farm.  Jody was overly generous, always secretly paying for people’s meals and keeping a pocket full of crosses that he passed out to those who God led him to.  He loved family, especially his grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and he was the master instigator of shenanigans at every family outing.  If you were his friend, you had a friend for life, and please know he cherished all of you.  He was a very hard worker but always had time for family or a friend in need.  He’ll always be remembered by his motto, “Everyday is a good day, some are just better.”

Surviving is his wife of ten years, Dawn Carroll of the residence; his mother, Brenda Carroll of Madison; three sons, Paul Carroll (Jen) of Lexington, Adam Moyer (Sheena) of Winston-Salem, and John Wood of Lexington; two daughters, Amy Fletcher (Steven) of Pennsylvania and Brianne Wood (Josh) of High Point; a sister, Donna Cochran (Rick) of Lexington; a brother, Jim Carroll (Jana) of Thomasville; six grandchildren, Kylie, Addison, Sofia, Ava, Stevie Marie, and Avaley; nieces and nephews, Josh Cochran (Heather), Hadleigh Cochran, Wyatt Cochran, Amber Parks (Tim), Brylin Parks, Caroline Parks, Gentry Parks, and Lauren Carroll; and two more grandchildren on the way, one of them being his granddaughter, Canyon.  He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Carroll; and brother, Brian Carroll.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. both Saturday (9-26) and Sunday (9-27) at the Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to the organization of the donor’s choice.
