John Charles Meadows

Mr. John Charles Meadows, 70, resident of High Point, died unexpectedly at his home.

He was born in St. Albans, West Virginia on March 2, 1950 and later attended West Virginia St. University where he received a degree in mechanics.  He moved to Greensboro in 1987 and later spent many years employed with High Point University prior to retirement.  John was an outdoors man who enjoyed hiking, camping, and canoeing.  While living in West Virginia, he was an eagle scout, Master Scout, and an honored scout leader.  He especially was a loving father and a good friend to those who knew him.  He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his sons, Joshua Lee Meadows and Abrey Joseph Meadows both of Winston-Salem; a step-son, Thomas Michael Harshbarger of Union Grove; a brother, William George Meadows of West Virginia; a sister, Georgia Kay Meadows of Georgia; his former wife Joanna G. Meadows of Winston-Salem; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William George Meadows and Katherine Gibson Meadows.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Winston-Salem.
