ARCHDALE – Joseph Dean Allred, 60, went to his heavenly home on Monday, November 23, 2020 at High Point Medical Center due to complications from COVID-19.
He was born September 26, 1960 in High Point and was the son of Jonah Joseph and Lela Victoria Jackson Allred. Dean was a long time truck driver for Sunbelt Furniture Xpress. Family and friends were so important to Dean and he was an active member and deacon of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He loved reading the Bible and singing with his group, Mercy’s Trio. He was a true man of God that had a smile that would light up any room. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Dean is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Nora Romo Allred, whom he married on July 7, 1983; children, Anthony Allred and wife, Nicole, of Trinity, Lindsey Todd and husband, Warren, of Lexington, Daniel Allred and wife, Megan, of Sophia, and Deanna Allred of Archdale and fiancé, Devin Potts, of Thomasville; and parents, Bible and Vicki Allred of Archdale. Dean was a wonderful “Papa” to his grandchildren, Tiana Lain, Anthony Allred, Jr., “AJ,” Alyssa Allred, Madison Penna, Chloe Allred, Henley Todd, Jordan Allred and Gage Allred. He is also survived by his brothers, Gary Allred (Jetty) of Trinity, Teddy Allred of Kernersville and Doug Allred (Renee) of Archdale; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral service celebrating Dean’s life will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, November 28, 2020, in the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale with Deacon Johnny Maynard and Mr. Chris Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Archdale.
The family will speak with friends from 12:45 to 1:45 pm Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
