Joseph L. "Joe" Sykes

ARCHDALE-Joseph L. “Joe" Sykes entered into eternal rest Saturday, January 5, 2019. It was his 66^th birthday.

He is survived by his parents Wilbur and Betty Sykes: wife Stephanie Dean Sykes; son Justin Sykes, granddaughters Imogen and Ingrid; daughter Carrie Sykes Ciucciomei, husband Chris, grandson Caleb and granddaughter Cierra Rose; brothers Steve Sykes and wife Mei; David Sykes and wife Mina; sisters, Sara McCarthy; Becky Thompson and husband Mark; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Joe, retired from Stickley Furniture in 2011 and was a long time member of Mt. Vernon UMC in Trinity. He was a talented musician playing drums from a young age.  Joe performed in numerous bands spanning a lifetime and particularly enjoyed playing in the church praise band. He was a man of dedicated and deep faith.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, January 12, at 2 pm, at Mt Vernon United Methodist Church, with Reverend Brian Cornell officiating.  A time of visitation with family and friends will follow the service.
